Why did we decide to make a member portal and new website?
- To give members more value for their money
- Requests for more networking events
- Easier search-ability for resources
- To give our administrators more time to work on projects that bring value to the members
Can I opt out of the members-only portal?
Your membership will automatically be moved to our new secure membership database which is hosted on the members-only portal back end.
To access members-only resources and events, you’ll need to log into the new portal website.
However, you do not have to join groups or participate in anything you don’t have interest in, and you can have your privacy settings set for minimal interaction.

Memberships
What is my password?
The first time you log in you’ll be directed to create a password. If you forget your password at any point, click the “Lost Password?” link on the login page and it will direct you further.
Do I have to auto-renew?
The next time your membership is due for renewal, you’ll have the option to select auto-renew. It is automatically selected, so if you do not want to auto-renew, simply uncheck that box.
Is my renewal date changing?
No, we will set your membership to expire one year after your last renewal date.

How do I turn off or change notifications?
- In the left side menu, go to Account
- Click Notification Settings
- Adjust as you’d like
Privacy
Where is my information stored?
- In WordPress and plugins: Paid Memberships Pro and BuddyBoss
- Private google spreadsheets
Who has access to my contact, password, card details etc?
- Admin and some volunteers have access to contact information and basic profile information you choose to give us.
- Payment and card details are done through Stripe. Card info is stored there for auto-renewing memberships but the numbers are not visible or accessible to any staff or volunteers of the CHTA.
How will the member portal display my information?
- Each member will have a Profile. On your profile you can adjust which fields are visible to others, so you can keep as much privacy as you’d like. Members can search and find your profile, or click on your name if you’ve commented or joined a group.
- If you would like to opt out of being searchable, contact us so we can change your profile to be hidden.
How can I change what my profile shows?
- On the left side banner, go to Account, then Privacy
- It will give you a list of each field and give you the option to make it visible to the Public, All Members, or Only Me (private).
- Change as you’d like and hit Save Changes at the bottom.
